Child Safety – Safe Blinds for Homes with Children

The safety of children is especially important when choosing and installing window coverings. This applies in particular to blinds equipped with cords, chains or other operating elements.

All Nordi Blinds products comply with child safety requirements in accordance with the EN 13120 standard.

What does Child Safety mean for blinds?

The EN 13120 standard defines safety requirements for internal window coverings, including solutions designed to reduce the risks associated with children's access to operating elements.

Depending on the blind model and operating system, the product may be equipped with appropriate safety devices. Their purpose is to keep cords or chains properly positioned and secured, helping to limit children's access to them.

Correct installation is just as important

Child Safety devices can only perform their intended function when they are installed correctly and used as intended.

For this reason, all operating and safety components must always be installed and used in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product. Safety devices should not be removed or modified.

Particular attention should also be paid to the placement of furniture. Cots, beds, chairs, desks or other furniture that a child could climb on should not be positioned where they provide easy access to operating cords or chains.

Safety as part of correct installation

Child Safety is not an optional extra, but an important part of the safe use of blinds. All supplied safety components should therefore be installed during fitting and remain in place throughout the entire period of use.
